What is the idea of informandi's motto?
If you choose informandi, you will obtain "added value from information". This is not only a reference to informational added value theory in information science, but also refers to practical gains you will enjoy from our information systems, services and products.
What does the company's name informandi stand for?
It is derived from the Latin word informare, which means "to inform" or "to shape". informandi is the gerundive form, indicating in the context of information an obligation, necessity or purpose, thus implying "of informing" or "to be informed", or "for the purpose of informing". In this sense, it emphasizes the act or process of conveying knowledge, shaping, or instructing. This is the value proposition we want to bring to you: changing and shaping knowledge processes, and also offering you training.
And what about sigillum?
Some word play here. The director's last name is Sigel, a variant of seal or sign, which in general stands for quality, authenticity and approval ("you can take my word for it"), and is used in this form in library science as individual sign or code identifying an institution. Sigillum as diminutive is a small seal or sign. This is not only used in heraldics, but also stands for legitimacy, and, in esoteric and occult traditions, a sigillum refers to a symbol or design supposedly having mystical or magical power. We finally arrive at sigils, which in programming are special symbols or characters that are added to variables, constants, or other elements to convey specific meanings or functionality. They are often used to differentiate between types of variables, references, or scopes. In sum, you can expect quality work from information to programming. We cannot do magic, but from time it might appear we used some magic powers. :-)
